Alan Tudyk Will Officially Return As K-2SO in Star Wars: Andor Season 2

Exciting news for all Star Wars fans! If you’ve watched Andor Season 1, then you’re probably familiar with the anticipation surrounding some of our favorite characters.

At D23, Lucasfilm delighted fans by confirming that Alan Tudyk will reprise his role as K-2SO in Andor Season 2.

Cassian Andor is arrested by K-2SO Droid | Star Wars Andor Series Episode 7 “Announcement” (HD)

This announcement came during a special behind-the-scenes reel shown to attendees, sparking excitement among those of us who have been eagerly awaiting the return of the beloved droid.

K-2SO, who we first met in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is a reprogrammed Imperial security droid turned crucial intelligence asset for Rebel Intelligence.

Since Rogue One’s release in 2016, similar security droids have popped up across various Star Wars media, including the Jedi action games from Respawn.

You might also remember a similar droid making a memorable appearance in Andor’s first season, where it menacingly confronted Cassian when Imperial patrols stopped him on the planet Niamos.

What’s really intriguing is that we still don’t know whether Season 2 will show us K-2SO’s first meeting with Cassian or if they’ll already have an established partnership.

Either way, it’s bound to be exciting!

But that’s not all—the footage also revealed the return of Ben Mendelsohn as Director Orson Krennic.

If you remember, Krennic was the villain in Rogue One and played a key role in the development of the Death Star before meeting a rather explosive end.

How he’ll factor into Andor this time around is still a mystery, but it definitely adds another layer of intrigue to the upcoming season.

With the return of these iconic characters, Andor Season 2 is shaping up to be even more thrilling, and I, for one, can’t wait to dive back into the Star Wars universe!”
