Are you a big fan of Star Wars? If so, you might remember the golden days of numerous fantastic Star Wars games. It’s been a while since we’ve had a truly great one to play, hasn’t it?
That is, until 2019 when EA (Electronic Arts) launched a game that quickly became a fan favorite.
“Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” was a massive hit, receiving impressive scores like 8.5/10 on IMDb and 9/10 from IGN.
With such success, it was inevitable that EA would develop a sequel.
Enter “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” which was released on April 28, 2023.
Fans were eager to learn more about the game at the Star Wars Celebration 2023 event, where they heard from Stig Asmussen, the game director for both “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” and “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.”
They got insights into the gameplay, the story, and so much more.
However, during the event, Cameron Monaghan, who portrays the game’s protagonist, brought up a significant issue to Stig Asmussen.
“We have a problem, we have an issue here,” Monaghan declared. “You’re talking about the story, gameplay, characters, but you haven’t mentioned the poncho.”
Fans reacted wildly to his statement. In “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,” our hero, Cal Kestis, wore a poncho that players could customize in different colors.
It became an iconic part of his look, and its absence in discussions about the sequel was keenly felt by many.
In “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” Cal Kestis’s iconic poncho is notably missing from his default appearance, a significant change from his look in “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.”
This initially surprised fans who had grown accustomed to the poncho as part of Cal’s character.
However, the developers eventually included the poncho as a collectible item that players can find and equip within the game.
This decision was likely influenced by Cameron Monaghan, who voices Cal Kestis.
Monaghan had humorously requested the poncho’s return, highlighting his connection to the character and the fanbase’s love for this unique piece of attire.
