Can Disney Ever Bring These Solo Characters Back to Live Action?

In Solo: A Star Wars Story, audiences were captivated by Han Solo and his love interest Qi’ra.

Qi’ra’s story became complex and took on a life of its own. It would be quite interesting to see these characters return to live action.

Can Disney bring Han and Qi’ra back? Read on to find out more.

Qi’ra from Solo

Solo: A Star Wars Story - Qi'ra Contacts Darth Maul

As we saw in Solo, Qi’ra grew up with Han Solo on Corellia and was part of the criminal group the White Worms.

The two developed a romantic relationship and tried to escape from this underworld but were separated at the Coronet Spaceport. Han got away and vowed to return for Qi’ra.

Yet, crime boss Proxima sold Qi’ra to the slave dealer Sarkin Enneb, who in turn sold her to Dryden Vos, the public-facing leader of Crimson Dawn.

Once Vos took Qi’ra in as his lieutenant, the plot became interesting. After Qi’ra and Han were reunited, she ended up killing her boss Vos once he tried to kill Han.

We can relive some of the drama here.

Han Solo & Qi'ra vs Dryden Vos (Part 4) | Solo : A Star Wars Story

Qi’ra’s story became more intriguing once she decided not to remain with Han but instead work with Darth Maul.

After Maul died, Qi’ra became the leader of Crimson Dawn and garnered the title “Lady.” Lady Qi’ra sought to bring down Palpatine, Vader, and the Empire.

All these plot twists provide rich terrain for bringing Qi’ra back to live action if Disney can or will do it.

Can Disney Bring Qi’ra Back?

Some fans think it would be a positive development if Disney brought back Qi’ra.

Some posts stress how she was a “fascinating character,” the performance of actor Emilia Clarke, and the opportunity to showcase this character in a way that is NOT “a continuation of the Solo story.”

So, the possibility could be there and an appealing one.

However, other fans from the same discussion are more skeptical.

They point to reasons why this move won’t happen, such as the “Solo Saga” never getting “into fruition” or how the Marvel comics already made “heavy use of Qi’ra” in their print run that captured the time between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Perhaps, Disney has relinquished this character.

This may be the biggest obstacle to her return since Marvel has done a range of comics with Qi’ra playing the lead role.

These issues address her role with Crimson Dawn, their attempts to defeat the Sith, destabilize the galaxy, and their ultimate demise. Hence, Disney may think that this terrain has already been covered.

Yet, these comics could serve as a source of inspiration and motivate Disney to bring Qi’ra and these events to life.

How Could Disney Bring Qi’ra Back?

Disney could bring Qi’ra back around any of the events from A New Hope to Return in which she plays the leading role. Perhaps Disney could draw on the comic War of the Bounty Hunters.

If so, we could see Qi’ra revamp Crimson Dawn after the Empire Strikes Back, “embedding agents all over the galaxy,” recovering frozen Han, and instigating a war between the Empire and the Hutt crime family.

Those premises sound like an appealing saga that conjures elements of The Mandalorian and Andor.

Likewise, depicting Qi’ra using the ancient Sith Fermata Cage against Vader and Sidious would be compelling.

Audiences would enjoy seeing those two premier Siths captured in time. This move would parallel how The Acolyte drew in elements like the cortosis helmet to draw out a sinister past.

These are only a couple of the appealing options for how Disney could revive Qi’ra. Another one is to depict her time with Maul.

As one article stated, it makes “the most overall sense for Qi’ra to return in a series that could potentially focus on Maul’s time as a crime syndicate leader.”

Yet, sense does not usually drive the decisions as much as cents, and whether this idea or others amounts to a lucrative return is another discussion.

Another Solo Star Fans Want to See Return: Alden Ehrenreich

As Solo: A Star Wars Story slowly gains more appreciation, many fans have also started re-evaluating Alden Ehrenreich’s performance as Han Solo. What once seemed like an impossible task — stepping into Harrison Ford’s shoes — now stands out as one of the film’s strongest elements. Ehrenreich brought the right mix of charm, wit, and uncertainty that made his version of a younger Han believable and human.

His career took a major upswing again with his performance in Oppenheimer. Despite sharing the screen with actors like Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr., Ehrenreich managed to steal scenes as a quiet, unnamed Senate aide — a role that could easily have faded into the background. Critics praised his restrained delivery and sharp timing, with RogerEbert.com calling it “a welcome new zenith of his career.” That single, understated line to Downey Jr.’s character — “Maybe they were talking about something more important” — became one of the film’s most haunting moments.

It reminded audiences how good Ehrenreich really is — an actor who doesn’t need grand gestures or nostalgia to command attention. With Oppenheimer putting him back in the spotlight, many fans now wonder if Lucasfilm might take notice and bring him back alongside Emilia Clarke’s Qi’ra. Their unfinished story from Solo still has plenty of ground to explore, and Ehrenreich has clearly proven he’s more than capable of leading it.
