There’s nothing quite like the excitement of meeting a new dark side character in the Star Wars universe.
Whether it’s their commanding presence, their complex backstory, or their raw connection to the Force, dark side users have a way of capturing our imagination.
Qimir, introduced in The Acolyte, was no exception.
But with the unfortunate cancellation of the show, fans are left wondering: will we ever see Qimir again?
I certainly hope so.

My Opinion on “Darth” Qimir
In my opinion, Qimir was one of the coolest dark siders we’ve seen in years. There’s something about the character’s energy, motives, and demeanor that stood out.
Even with the limited screen time they had, Qimir showed great potential to become a memorable figure in the Star Wars canon.
For instance, his brutal killing spree on Khofar, where he demonstrated his formidable Force abilities by taking down most of the Jedi mission crew, was a chilling display of his power.
Additionally, his secret training of Mae Aniseya, guiding her through various missions, and his dramatic confrontation with Master Sol, where he revealed his true power.
His relationship with Osha, where he tried to convince her to join him and find her true power with the Force, further showcased his complexity.
But now, with The Acolyte no longer continuing, it’s hard not to feel disappointed that we won’t get to see more of this fascinating character, at least for now.
What Made Qimir So Cool?
So what set Qimir apart from other dark siders?
For starters, there was a freshness to his design and demeanor. Qimir didn’t feel like a carbon copy of previous dark-side users.
While Star Wars has given us legendary villains like Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and Kylo Ren, Qimir felt like a unique blend of mystery, power, and control.
From their first appearance, Qimir exuded a different kind of menace. Many dark side users rely on overt aggression, but Qimir was different.
His quiet intensity hinted at a character who was playing the long game.
-He seemed to understand the deeper nuances of the dark side, focusing on more than just raw power and destruction. This layered approach to his character is what really intrigued me.
Qimir didn’t rely solely on his connection to the Force. His helmet and arm covering, both crafted from cortosis, a rare lightsaber-resistant material, allowed him to engage in close-quarters combat with Jedi in unexpected ways.
In a climactic moment, Qimir used his helmet to deflect an incoming lightsaber strike and followed up by shattering a Jedi’s lightsaber with a crushing blow from his arm, leaving them defenseless and at his mercy.
These techniques further demonstrated Qimir’s unique fighting style, setting him apart from dark siders who relied purely on brute force or raw power.
Even more telling was his relationship with Osha. Unlike the typical master-apprentice dynamic in the Sith
Unlike the typical master-apprentice dynamic in the Sith, where betrayal is always imminent, Qimir seemed genuinely invested in Osha’s growth, offering her guidance rather than demanding blind obedience.
His attempts to lure her to the dark side weren’t based on promises of power or domination, but rather on convincing her that embracing the dark side could unlock her true potential.
This manipulation was subtle, more psychological than violent.
Predicting Qimir’s Future in the Star Wars Universe
The cancellation of The Acolyte is unfortunate, but in the Star Wars universe, the end of a show doesn’t have to mean the end of a character.
Qimir has too much potential to be left on the cutting room floor. Star Wars has a long history of resurrecting fan-favorite characters in other mediums or shows—just look at Darth Maul or Ahsoka Tano.
Both were introduced in projects that eventually ended, but their popularity saw them return in other series, comics, and even films.
There’s no reason why Qimir couldn’t follow a similar path. Whether it’s through a new Star Wars series, an animated spin-off, or even a novel or comic series, there are so many ways for Qimir’s story to continue.
