During an interview at Star Wars Celebration in 2022, the cast shared stories about what it was like working on Attack of the Clones.
Ewan McGregor recalled filming Obi-Wan’s Kamino scenes and looked back on his time working with Daniel Logan, who played the young Boba Fett.
McGregor first told a story about Nash Edgerton, his stunt double, trying to act tough while filming one of the action scenes. At some point, Edgerton accidentally broke one of his teeth, but he acted like nothing had happened because he knew his mother was sitting outside and would worry about him. He did not want her to know.
McGregor then continued by asking Daniel Logan whether he had already shared part of the story about the scene where Obi-Wan first meets Boba Fett, after the Kaminoans bring him to the door.
According to McGregor, George Lucas wanted Boba Fett to give Obi-Wan a suspicious look when the door opened.
But Daniel Logan was only 13 years old while filming Attack of the Clones, and for a boy that young, giving Boba that exact kind of wary, distrustful expression toward Obi-Wan was not easy. So they had to do the moment over and over again.
That was when Ewan McGregor gave him a funny piece of advice. He told him, “When I open the door, act like I’ve done a terrible fart… Just try it.”
The whole room burst into laughter at McGregor’s line to Daniel Logan, and it became even funnier when Ewan acted out Logan’s facial expression for the entire audience at Star Wars Celebration.
