It’s finally official. Hayden Christensen is confirmed to return as Anakin in Ahsoka Season 2. After years of fan support and his standout appearances in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Season 1, Christensen is back once again to step into one of the most complex roles in the Star Wars saga.
It Was Confirmed at Star Wars Celebration 2025
At this year’s Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, Hayden Christensen himself walked on stage and confirmed what many of us had hoped for: he’s returning in Ahsoka Season 2. According to Entertainment Weekly, Christensen couldn’t reveal much, but he did say he’s excited to explore Anakin’s character even further and is grateful for the chance to return to Star Wars again
“There’s not much that I can share, but Anakin will be back for season 2,” Christensen announced to the crowd.
If you watched Ahsoka Season 1, then you already know how powerful and emotional Anakin’s presence was. From haunting visions to the mind-bending World Between Worlds, Christensen’s return wasn’t just fan service — it was a meaningful continuation of Ahsoka’s arc. We saw live-action flashbacks to the Clone Wars, new insights into Ahsoka and Anakin’s bond, and that unforgettable duel in the Force realm.
What to Expect From Anakin in Season 2
Now that it’s confirmed Anakin is back, what does that mean for Season 2? At this point, most of the story details are still under wraps. But what we do know is this: Ahsoka Season 2 is expected to go deeper into the cosmic side of the Force — including the Mortis gods, time portals, and even more Force philosophy.
And that’s exactly where Anakin fits in.
Remember how Anakin was once the “Chosen One” tied to the balance of the Force and Mortis itself? Season 2 might finally give us the answers about what happened to Anakin’s spirit after death, how he’s still guiding Ahsoka, and whether he still has a role to play in the balance of the galaxy.
Dave Filoni is returning as showrunner, with production expected to start soon. Ahsoka Season 2 is slated to premiere on Disney+ in 2026. There’s no word yet on how many episodes we’ll get, but if Season 1 is anything to go by, we’re in for a visually stunning and emotionally charged continuation.
