Jedi Youngling Survives Order 66, Asks To Be Vader’s Apprentice

We all know that Order 66 changed the galaxy forever, wiping out nearly all of the Jedi and paving the way for the rise of the Empire.

Most of the Jedi who survived the initial purge went into hiding, trying to avoid the Empire’s relentless hunt.

But one ex-Jedi took a very different path. Instead of hiding or running, this former Jedi confronted Darth Vader face-to-face.

And not just that—this individual boldly asked Vader to take them on as an apprentice.

It was a move that went against everything the Jedi once stood for. Let’s take a look at how this incredible confrontation unfolded.

The Mysterious Vision on Dargulli

The Jedi Youngling who tried to become Darth Vader’s Apprentice [Legends]

In Star Wars: Empire issue #4, we get one of the more daring stories from the Star Wars universe.

The comic follows a dangerous encounter between Darth Vader and a former Jedi who made an unbelievable request—to become his apprentice.

This issue shows a side of ambition and boldness that didn’t end well for the ex-Jedi.

The story begins when Emperor Palpatine sends Vader to the Inner Rim world of Dargulli.

The Emperor had sensed a mysterious and powerful presence—one that needed to be dealt with. However, when Vader arrived, the mission quickly took a turn.

Instead of meeting his target right away, Vader found himself ambushed by a group of bounty hunters, believing they could defeat him for fame and fortune.

Unbeknownst to them, Boba Fett was already watching from the shadows and had chosen to side with Vader instead. The bounty hunters’ plan was doomed from the start.

What followed was a swift and brutal display of Vader’s power.

As he dispatched the bounty hunters with ease, Fett assisted in taking down the last of them. With the battlefield littered with fallen opponents, a lone figure finally emerged from the shadows—a woman wielding a lightsaber.

Apologizing for luring Vader to Dargulli, she made her intentions clear. She was not a Jedi anymore; she had rejected that path. Instead, she wanted to join Vader as his apprentice, revealing that she had seen a vision of him overthrowing the Emperor.

Boba Fett, with his usual pragmatic approach, quipped, “I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that,” and wisely kept his distance from what was about to unfold.

Vader’s response was immediate and deadly. With a single strike, he cut her down without hesitation.

Her bold offer, and the vision she thought would change everything, ended in an instant.

To Vader, her ambition was a threat, and there was no room for a would-be traitor in the Emperor’s plans.
