Rory McCann to Inherit Ray Stevenson’s Role in Ahsoka Season 2

Rory McCann to Inherit Ray Stevenson’s Role in Ahsoka Season 2

With the loss of Ray Stevenson back in May 2023, the future of Baylan Skoll in Ahsoka has been a big question mark. Baylan was one of the most compelling characters in the series, and his mysterious arc opened up so many possibilities for the Star Wars universe.

Now, according to The Insneider, it looks like Rory McCann—yep, Sandor “The Hound” Clegane from Game of Thrones—is being considered to take on the role of Baylan Skoll. TVLine has reached out to Disney+ for official confirmation, but there’s no word yet.

Season 1 of Ahsoka left Baylan’s story wide open. His search for greater power in Peridia hints at some massive implications for the galaxy, so it’s clear his story isn’t over. If McCann does step into the role, it’s going to be a huge challenge to continue Baylan’s journey while honoring the incredible work Stevenson brought to the character.

McCann has already proven he’s amazing at playing complex, morally gray characters. Just look at his portrayal of Sandor “The Hound” Clegane in Game of Thrones. He took a character who started as a brutal, sarcastic killer and turned him into someone with real depth, vulnerability, and even a twisted sense of honor.

With production on Season 2 reportedly getting underway soon, we’ll hopefully get some official news on the cast. Until then, it’s worth taking a moment to appreciate Stevenson’s unforgettable contribution to Star Wars and look ahead to what’s next for Baylan Skoll’s fascinating story.
