Starkiller Meets Yoda on Dagobah

Starkiller Meets Yoda on Dagobah

If you haven’t played The Force Unleashed II, there’s a moment you might not know about — one that feels straight out of the movies. In the middle of his journey, Starkiller, Darth Vader’s powerful secret apprentice, ends up on Dagobah and comes face-to-face with Yoda.

It’s a surprising pause in a game best known for lightning storms and throwing Star Destroyers around. Instead of another explosive battle, the story slows down into something quieter and far more meaningful. In this article, I’ll walk you through how Starkiller finds himself on Dagobah, what happens when he meets Yoda, and how the encounter with the cave of the Dark Side changes him forever.

Arrival on Dagobah

Before we get to the moment Starkiller comes face-to-face with Yoda, we have to answer a simple question: why Dagobah? What would draw him to such a forgotten, lifeless world in the first place?

The answer lies in what happened just before. After rescuing General Rahm Kota from Imperial captivity, Starkiller’s focus should have been on the growing Rebellion. Kota saw his power, urged him to take command, and tried to convince him that the war needed him. But Starkiller’s heart was elsewhere. He had lost all contact with Juno Eclipse, and every step of his journey was haunted by visions of her in danger.

When they returned to the ship, the tension finally boiled over. Kota argued that Starkiller’s power could change the course of the war, that the Rebellion needed him now. But Starkiller refused. He insisted that finding Juno came first — and only after she was safe would he consider fighting for the cause. To Kota, that was reckless. To Starkiller, it was the only thing that mattered.

The argument ended with Kota telling Starkiller to drop him off and go wherever he wanted. And so, left on his own, Starkiller followed the whispers of the Force. He chose Dagobah — a quiet, hidden world where he could meditate, clear his mind, and search for the one thing he still believed in: Juno.

Meeting Yoda

When Starkiller set foot on Dagobah, the first figure he encountered wasn’t an enemy, but the small, cloaked form of Yoda. Yet Starkiller hadn’t come seeking the Jedi Master’s wisdom—he was drawn here by something else. The dark side was calling, and its pull led him toward the infamous cave.

As he approached the entrance, Yoda stepped into his path. Their exchange was brief, but telling. Starkiller asked, almost suspiciously, “You guard this place?”

Yoda shook his head, his voice calm and even: “No. Only a watcher am I now.”

The two spoke quietly in the shadow of the cave, Yoda’s words probing beneath the surface, sensing the turmoil that had brought Starkiller here. He knew what the young warrior was searching for—answers about himself, about his destiny, about the storm of conflict raging inside him. But Yoda offered no commands, no judgment. Only insight, and the silent permission to step forward.

With that, Starkiller turned from the old Master and faced the cave. Whatever waited for him inside, it wasn’t Yoda’s guidance that would decide it—it was his own.

Starkiller’s Vision Inside the Dark Cave

As for if you are curious about what Starkiller’s vision was when he entered the dark cave, you can continue watching the video above, but here’s a breakdown of what he actually saw.

The moment Starkiller stepped into the cave, shadows began to twist and take shape. Out of the darkness appeared his own clones, reaching toward him, begging for help. At first, Starkiller flinched in fear, unsettled by the sight of so many broken versions of himself. But as the figures crowded around him, he steadied. They weren’t real. They couldn’t harm him. With that realization, he pressed deeper into the cave, drawn by the hope of finding Juno.

The vision shifted, and Starkiller saw what he had been desperate for—Juno. She appeared before him, wounded, shot in the shoulder, but alive. Even through the pain, she fought to escape. That single glimpse was enough: Juno was still out there, and Starkiller’s determination only hardened.

The vision faded, leaving him alone again in the cave’s silence. When Starkiller emerged into the swamp’s light, Yoda was waiting. The old Master didn’t lecture or question. Instead, he offered a single line of guidance, one that carried the weight of truth:

“What you have seen, follow it you must.”
