The Bear Star Jeremy Allen White Joins the Mandalorian & Grogu As Jabba the Hutt’s Son

Jeremy Allen White, the breakout star of The Bear and Shameless, is officially stepping into the Star Wars universe.

In an exciting casting move, White will voice Rotta the Hutt, better known as Jabba the Hutt’s son, in the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu film set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026.

This announcement has Star Wars fans buzzing with curiosity about how Rotta, also nicknamed “Punky Muffin” by Jabba and “Stinky” by Ahsoka Tano, will fit into the story.

First introduced in the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated film, Rotta was kidnapped in an elaborate plot to discredit the Jedi Order but was rescued by Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano.

Back then, he was just a tiny slug-like infant, but this upcoming film promises to show a more mature version of Jabba’s heir.

The news began circulating after an episode of The Kristian Harloff Show, where renowned Hollywood scooper Jeff Sneider revealed the exciting update.

Known for his accurate insider knowledge, Sneider shared that Jeremy Allen White would lend his voice to Rotta the Hutt in the upcoming film.

What Can We Expect From Rotta’s Role?

Given the timeline of The Mandalorian series, Rotta would now be much older than his initial appearance, likely stepping into a more prominent role as part of the Hutt family’s infamous criminal syndicate.

White’s casting suggests that Rotta’s character will bring a unique depth to the story, perhaps exploring the Hutt clan’s influence in the galaxy after Jabba’s death in Return of the Jedi.
