Not all clone troopers were the same. Some had strong bonds with the Jedi, hesitating or even resisting when Order 66 was given. Others? They didn’t even think twice. No hesitation, no emotion—just pure loyalty to the chain of command.
These clones weren’t just following orders; they executed their Jedi generals without a second thought. That’s what made them some of the coldest figures in the galaxy.
Commander Neyo (CC-8826)
Neyo wasn’t the type to question orders. He was an Advanced Recon Commando (ARC) who worked his way up to Clone Marshal Commander, leading the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps. That alone tells you what kind of soldier he was—sharp, efficient, and built for combat.
His armor? A little different from the standard clone trooper look. He wore a BARC helmet, which gave him a distinct, almost emotionless appearance. It fit his personality. Neyo wasn’t the kind of clone to form deep bonds with the Jedi like Rex or Cody. He was all about duty.
During the Clone Wars, Neyo served under Jedi like Oppo Rancisis, Adi Gallia, and Stass Allie. But by the end of the war, when Order 66 came through, all of that meant nothing.
At the time, he was on Saleucami, patrolling with Stass Allie on speeder bikes. When the order came, he didn’t pause for a second. No hesitation, no questioning—he just fired his speeder’s laser cannons at her, sending her crashing in a fiery explosion.
That’s what makes Neyo stand out. He didn’t even get off his speeder or give her a chance to react. He simply took the order and carried it out without a shred of emotion. If there was ever a clone who embodied “just following orders,” it was him.
What Made Neyo So Effective?
Neyo wasn’t just another clone commander—he was ARC trained, which meant he had skills that went beyond the average trooper. He excelled in:
- Recon and intelligence gathering – Perfect for scouting enemy movements.
- Piloting – His expertise with speeders made him incredibly fast and precise.
- Hand-to-hand and ranged combat – He could hold his own in close quarters or from a distance.
- Strict obedience – This was both his greatest strength and his defining flaw.
That last part is what sealed his fate. His loyalty never wavered, and that meant when Order 66 came, he followed it to the letter, without question.
Commander Gree (CC-1004)
Unlike Neyo, Commander Gree actually had a strong sense of duty and respect for his Jedi general. He wasn’t cold or distant—he was one of the more disciplined and tactical clone commanders.
His armor was just as unique as he was. With its green camouflage pattern, his Phase II armor was designed for blending into jungle environments. It made sense, considering he was stationed on Kashyyyk, leading the 41st Elite Corps under none other than Grandmaster Yoda himself.
Gree was the kind of clone who stood out because he had integrity. There’s a famous moment where Nute Gunray tried to bribe him, and Gree refused without hesitation. He was loyal to the Republic, through and through.
And that’s exactly what got him killed.
When Order 66 was issued, Gree didn’t hesitate either—but this time, he made the worst possible decision. He turned his blaster on Yoda.
Now, anyone who knows Star Wars knows that was not going to end well. The second Gree made his move, Yoda sensed it immediately, spun around, and decapitated him before he could even fire.
It was over in a second.
