The Proof Is Here. Darth Maul Was Finally A Sith Lord

There are many debated topics among Star Wars fans. Some argue whether Luke is stronger than Anakin or vice versa, or if Darth Vader, without his injuries, could have easily defeated Palpatine.

However, I’m here to introduce another debate: the question of whether Maul is truly a Sith Lord.

I’m not just here to convince you with words, but to present undeniable proof.

Without further ado…

Maul Is a Sith Lord Because He Was Trained in the Sith Method

The BRUTAL Sith Training That Nearly Killed Darth Maul [AS PALPATINE LAUGHED]

First, let’s clear up a crucial point: Darth Maul was trained as a Sith from a very young age, and his journey to becoming the deadly enforcer we know today was far from ordinary.

Born on Dathomir to a Nightsister mother and a Zabrak father, Maul’s life was shaped by the dark traditions of the Nightsisters and Nightbrothers.

However, Maul’s destiny changed dramatically when his mother encountered Darth Sidious, the apprentice of Darth Plagueis.

His mother, Kycina, begged Sidious to save Maul from a life of servitude under the Nightsisters. Sensing Maul’s strong connection to the Force, Sidious agreed and took the infant to begin his dark path.

From the moment Sidious took Maul, his life became one of extreme pain and discipline. Sidious raised Maul in secret, starting his training on the volcanic planet Mustafar.

The first few years of Maul’s life were spent in isolation, cared for by droids and subjected to harsh physical and mental trials.

Sidious sought to break Maul down completely, punishing him severely for any mistakes, and showing him no mercy.

This was meant to forge Maul into a weapon driven by pure rage, hatred, and fear.

Sidious didn’t just train Maul in combat but immersed him deeply in the Sith philosophy.

Maul learned the history of the Sith and the Jedi, studying the great Sith Lords like Darth Bane, Exar Kun, and Darth Revan, and developing a deep hatred for the Jedi.

The young Zabrak’s early training included exercises designed to push him past his physical limits, often involving extreme danger.

For example, Maul was once suspended upside down over a vat of acid, and forced to escape while listening to Sidious recite the dark history of the Sith.

Mastery of Combat and the Force

One of the core focuses of Maul’s training was lightsaber combat.

Sidious trained Maul relentlessly in the use of both single and double-bladed lightsabers, making Maul one of the most formidable duelists in the galaxy.

His agility, combined with his ferocity, allowed him to wield the double-bladed lightsaber with devastating precision.

Sidious taught Maul how to channel his rage into every strike, turning his anger into a deadly weapon in battle.

Maul’s training wasn’t just physical. Sidious conditioned Maul’s mind through intense mental discipline, ensuring that Maul would follow the path of the Sith without question.

He applied agonizing Sith tattoos to Maul’s body, a process meant to cleanse Maul’s mind and ensure his complete dedication to the dark side.

Every part of Maul’s training was designed to make him a living embodiment of Sith philosophy—he was not just Sidious’ apprentice, but a tool of revenge against the Jedi.

Sidious’ Assassin: The Making of Darth Maul

When Palpatine Tested Maul Against Assassins (pre Phantom Menace)

In addition to his combat skills, Sidious trained Maul to be a master assassin, sending him on dangerous missions to test his abilities.

To ensure Maul would never reveal his true Sith identity, Sidious initially forbade him from using the Force in public.

Instead, Maul relied on his heightened senses and honed reflexes, becoming a deadly assassin who could eliminate his targets without detection.

Maul’s survival skills were put to the test during a final trial on the desolate planet of Hypori.

Sidious abandoned Maul there, leaving him to survive alone while being hunted by assassin droids.

For a month, Maul endured constant attacks, his physical and mental endurance pushed to their limits.

When Sidious returned, he challenged Maul to a duel. Although Maul was weak and famished, he fought with everything he had.

When Sidious revealed that he had been training another apprentice to replace Maul, Maul’s fury erupted—he attacked Sidious in a final act of defiance.

But this was the true test.

By attempting to kill his master, Maul proved that his hatred had reached its peak.

Sidious revealed that there had been no other apprentice—this was a test to determine whether Maul was ready to take his place as a true Sith Lord.

Maul passed the test, earning the title of Darth Maul, a Lord of the Sith. Sidious had forged Maul into the ultimate weapon, ready to strike against the Jedi and carry out the Sith’s plans for revenge.

Conclusion

So, with all the proof provided above, it’s evident that Maul is truly a Sith Lord, having earned the title through his rigorous training and tests by Palpatine.

Even if you still don’t want to accept that Maul is a Darth, you can check the Star Wars Databank.

There, it is confirmed that Maul is indeed a Sith Lord, known as Darth Maul.
