The Creation of Darth Revan
Revan’s early years were filled with frustration towards the Jedi Order. You can see why he was upset with their choice to stay out of the Mandalorian Wars.
This decision made him both friends and enemies, setting up the big events that came next.
The real change in Revan’s life happened when he traveled to the Unknown Regions with his friend Alek, who we later know as Malak. There, they found a rebuilt Sith Empire.
The Sith Emperor, a master manipulator, turned them to the dark side of the Force.
This moment created Darth Revan and Darth Malak, a powerful duo who would have a huge impact on the galaxy.
Transformation into Darth Revan and Betrayal by Darth Malak
Revan’s time as a Sith Lord was filled with fear and tyranny. As Darth Revan, he led the Sith with brutal efficiency, causing chaos and fear across many systems.
He captured critical hyperspace routes and used devastating weapons like the Star Forge, a massive space station that produced huge fleets and armies.
However, Revan’s story took a dramatic turn when his apprentice, Darth Malak, betrayed him. This betrayal happened during a key battle against the Republic.
Malak wanted to become the Dark Lord himself and saw his chance when Revan’s flagship was ambushed by a Jedi strike team led by Bastila Shan.
As the battle went on, Malak ordered his ships to fire on Revan’s flagship, aiming to kill both Revan and the Jedi.
This act of treachery almost killed Revan. The Jedi strike team managed to board the ship and confront him. During the fight, Revan was severely injured, and the Jedi captured him.
Bastila Shan used her powerful Battle Meditation and her connection to the Force to stabilize Revan and bring him back to the Jedi Council.
Revan’s capture gave the Jedi Council a tough decision. They saw Revan’s potential for redemption and the need for his strategic mind.
Instead of executing him, they chose to wipe his memory. This decision was hotly debated within the Council.
They erased his memories of being a Sith Lord and gave him a new identity, offering him a second chance at life.
The Fall and Redemption of Darth Revan
As Revan served the Republic, he started having disturbing visions of his past life as Darth Revan.
These visions, along with emerging memories, pushed him to seek answers about his true identity and the dark period of his life.
This quest for truth and redemption took him back to the Unknown Regions, where he faced the Sith Emperor once again.
Unfortunately, this time, he was captured and imprisoned, spending 300 years in stasis.
Even after such a long imprisonment, Revan was eventually freed by Republic forces. His liberation marked the beginning of his final journey toward redemption.
Revan dedicated his remaining years to destroying the Sith Empire, the very entity he had once served.
His plan was to use the ancient Rakatan Foundry to create an army of extermination droids to wipe out the Sith.
However, fate had other plans, and Revan was ultimately defeated by an Imperial strike team during the Battle of the Foundry.
But Revan’s story didn’t end with his death.
His consciousness was split into two halves, one light and one dark. These two halves battled each other until they were both destroyed by a coalition of Republic and Imperial forces, with help from the light side of Revan.
This final confrontation, known as the Battle of Yavin 4, led to the ultimate dissolution of Revan’s divided spirit.
In the end, the two halves of Revan’s spirit reunited, allowing him to finally become one with the Force.
