From the legendary partnership of Obi-Wan and Anakin to the formidable power of Darth Revan and Darth Malak, these pairings have shaped the galaxy’s most unforgettable moments.

In this article, I’ll walk you through my top three picks for duos that I think could go head-to-head with Revan and Malak. 

These are matchups I’d love to see in action on-screen, and I think any fan of Star Wars would agree that the battles would be epic.

So, without further ado, let’s jump right in.

The Legendary Duo in Star Wars – Darth Revan & Darth Malak

Darth Revan and Darth Malak. Just hearing their names sends chills down the spine of Star Wars fans who know their story. 

Once Jedi heroes who fought valiantly in the Mandalorian Wars, their fall to the dark side transformed them into a force that nearly brought the galaxy to its knees. 

Their partnership became infamous, a combination of brilliant strategy and raw, overwhelming power.

In the events leading up to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Revan and Malak led a campaign that would define them as a duo. 

During the Mandalorian Wars, they stood side by side, using their tactical genius and combat prowess to defeat the Mandalorians at the Battle of Malachor V—a brutal fight that shattered the Mandalorian fleet. 

It was here that Revan’s mastery of strategy and Malak’s relentless combat skills worked in perfect harmony, as they used a superweapon known as the Mass Shadow Generator to obliterate their enemies. 

This victory, while monumental, also sowed the seeds of their fall, as their exposure to the dark side of the Force at Malachor V corrupted them both.

Once they turned to the Sith, Revan and Malak became unstoppable. 

Revan, with his sharp mind and mastery of both light and dark sides of the Force, was the brain behind their conquests, while Malak, his apprentice, was the sheer powerhouse of raw Sith energy. 

One of their most devastating campaigns was the assault on the Republic during the Jedi Civil War. 

They battled side by side in multiple campaigns, including the capture of the Star Forge, a massive space station that allowed them to build their unstoppable Sith fleet.

1. Darth Bane and Darth Zannah

If we’re talking about who could stand a chance against Revan and Malak, I’d say Darth Bane and Darth Zannah are top contenders.

Bane reshapes the Sith Order with the Rule of Two, making him the mastermind behind its new structure. What makes them such a deadly duo is their balance of raw power and psychological warfare. 

Bane is not only physically powerful but also wears his iconic Orbalisk armor, which makes him nearly indestructible while feeding off his dark side energy, making him stronger the more he fights. 

Zannah, on the other hand, is a master of Sith sorcery, manipulating her enemies’ minds with terrifying illusions. 

At the Battle of Tython, Bane and Zannah faced off against a group of Jedi, including Johun Othone and Sarro Xaj. 

Bane overpowered the Jedi with his combat prowess, while Zannah’s sorcery sowed confusion among them, making it impossible for them to stand a chance. 

They wiped out the Jedi, showing just how lethal they were together. That combination of Bane’s unstoppable force and Zannah’s mental tricks could easily pose a threat to Revan and Malak. 

Sure, Revan is a master tactician, but Zannah’s abilities could throw him off balance, while Bane’s raw strength would challenge even Malak. 

In my opinion, Bane and Zannah know the Sith’s weaknesses better than anyone, making them the ultimate match for Revan and Malak.

2. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker

It’s impossible to talk about powerful duos in Star Wars without mentioning Obi-Wan and Anakin. 

Obi-Wan, with his calm and strategic approach, perfectly complements Anakin’s raw power and fiery instincts. 

Together, they’ve faced some of the galaxy’s most dangerous threats, and their teamwork is what always gets them through.

Throughout the Clone Wars, they fought side by side, and their relationship went beyond the typical Jedi Master and Padawan dynamic. 

They were more like brothers—Obi-Wan’s wisdom constantly guided Anakin, while Anakin’s daring nature and sheer force of will often saved the day. 

One of the best examples of their partnership is during The Battle of Christophsis.

At Christophsis, Obi-Wan commanded the 212th Battalion, with Commander Cody by his side, defending against wave after wave of Separatist droids. 

His role was defensive—holding the line and coordinating Republic forces. As the enemy pressed in, Cody worried that they were losing ground and suggested that Anakin should strike. 

But Obi-Wan, calm and sure, knew Anakin’s instincts well enough to trust him without hesitation. And, as if on cue, Anakin led the 501st in a perfectly timed counter-attack that overwhelmed the droids just when things were looking bleak.

This is why Obi-Wan and Anakin are so formidable together—they complement each other’s strengths perfectly. 

It’s not just their skills in battle, but their deep understanding of each other that makes them one of the strongest duos in Star Wars. 

If they can handle Christophsis together, they’d surely be able to hold their own against another powerful team like Revan and Malak.

3. Darth Sidious and Darth Vader

How could we possibly leave out the most powerful Sith duo who ruled the galaxy during the era of the Galactic Empire? 

Darth Sidious and Darth Vader were the perfect blend of manipulation and raw power. 

Together, they didn’t just seize control of the galaxy—they crushed anyone who stood in their way and reshaped the very fabric of the Star Wars universe.

We’re all familiar with Palpatine’s brilliance in crafting long-term schemes—such as orchestrating the creation of the Clone Troopers, which he then used to turn against the Jedi during Order 66. 

And of course, Darth Vader, his fearsome enforcer, played a pivotal role in purging the Jedi Temple. These moments have become legendary, as any Star Wars fan already knows.

But let’s not overlook the less-discussed battle where Sidious and Vader fought side by side—the Battle of Ryloth, as seen in Star Wars: Lords of the Sith. 

In this novel, set in the early days of the Empire, a group of Twi’lek rebels ambushes Vader and Sidious.

Rather than sending troops to do his bidding, Sidious chooses to join Vader on the battlefield. The duo fights back-to-back, demonstrating the full extent of their combined power. 

Sidious wields the dark side like a puppet master, hurling Force lightning to control the battlefield, while Vader charges directly into combat, using his raw strength and lightsaber skills to tear through enemy lines. Together, they decimate the rebel forces with deadly synergy.

What makes them even more dangerous, however, is Sidious’ vast knowledge of ancient Sith teachings. 

His understanding of Sith history and tactics, including lessons from past Sith Lords like Revan and Malak, could very well provide them an advantage in a hypothetical battle against the ancient Sith duo. 

Sidious didn’t just rely on brute strength—he was always two steps ahead, using his mastery of Sith philosophy to ensure his dominance alongside Vader.
