When Order 66 was Issued Inside a Jedi Youngling School (Legends)

Order 66 hit the galaxy like a storm no one saw coming. Jedi everywhere were caught off guard by the people they trusted most — their own clone troopers. But there’s one story that stands out from the chaos, one that didn’t happen on a battlefield or a city street. It happened inside a school for Jedi younglings.

A Stop On Bogden 3

So, here’s how it went down. Jedi Masters K’Kruhk and Sian Jeisel were supposed to head to Mygeeto to help Ki-Adi-Mundi near the end of the Clone Wars. Things didn’t go as planned. They got ambushed by a Separatist cruiser near Saleucami, and the fight left their ship in rough shape. With no way to reach their destination, they landed on Bogden 3, where a small Jedi academy trained younglings known as the Soaring Hawkbat Clan.

The academy was run by Master Du Mahn, a calm and kind teacher who took care of the kids along with Padawan Chase Piru. When the visiting Jedi and their clones showed up, the younglings could hardly contain their excitement. They had only heard about clone troopers through stories, and now they got to meet real soldiers of the Republic.

The clones started repairing the shuttle, and the Jedi joined the kids for dinner. The atmosphere was warm — laughter, chatter, and that rare feeling of peace in wartime. Even K’Kruhk, who had seen too much battle, felt a small sense of calm again. Watching the children train reminded him what being a Jedi truly meant: guiding the next generation, not fighting endless wars.

The Moment Everything Changed

That peace didn’t last long. During the night, the clones received a coded message from Coruscant — Order 66. I can only imagine the sudden silence when it came through. The troopers, who had been relaxed just moments earlier, started checking their weapons.

K’Kruhk sensed something was wrong. The Force twisted around him in warning. Then he heard it — a trooper asking if the order included the younglings. The answer came back cold and clear.

Blaster fire erupted. The academy turned into chaos. Master Du Mahn jumped forward to protect her students, deflecting blaster bolts as she shouted for them to run. A shot hit her from behind, and she fell before she could see them escape. Jeisel and Piru tried to cover the children, while K’Kruhk’s instincts took over. His saber slashed through the nearest trooper in one clean motion. Rage and confusion flooded through him as he fought off the attackers.

The clones kept coming, and every corner of the academy echoed with blaster fire and cries. K’Kruhk fought like he’d never fought before — not out of duty, but out of desperation to keep the younglings alive.

When they reached the exit, Jeisel made a choice. She told K’Kruhk to take the children and go. He tried to argue, but she reminded him that he was the only one who could fly the shuttle. Without waiting for another word, she sealed the doors behind her and faced the clones alone.

She fought until she was surrounded. Knowing she couldn’t hold out forever, she triggered a detonator that one of the troopers was carrying. The explosion took her and the rest of the attackers with it. Jeisel’s sacrifice gave K’Kruhk, Piru, and the surviving children their only chance to escape.

Fleeing Into The Unknown

They barely made it to the shuttle. The ship lifted off under fire, engines smoking, and K’Kruhk steered it into the stars. Inside, the younglings were crying and asking what had just happened — why the clones attacked, where their teachers were, and why everything had gone wrong.

K’Kruhk couldn’t answer. He just said he didn’t know, even he was trying to process the betrayal. The shuttle didn’t get far before it crashed on a remote world. That’s where they stayed for months, hiding among the wreckage and trying to survive.

But their quiet didn’t last. A group of pirates crash-landed nearby and tried to raid the shuttle. The sight of those thugs threatening the kids pushed K’Kruhk over the edge again. He tore through them in a blur of fury. When it was over, the children were safe, but shaken by what they saw — their protector turning into something close to a wild animal.

A New Beginning

Once things calmed down, K’Kruhk gathered the survivors. He promised he’d keep them safe, no matter what it took. Together, they found an old abandoned Jedi outpost and made it their home. Over time, the younglings grew up under his guidance, training quietly and living in peace while the Empire ruled the galaxy.

Years later, some of those same younglings — now adults — were believed to have joined Luke Skywalker’s New Jedi Order. They carried forward what little remained of the old ways, shaped by the memories of that night on Bogden 3.
