Clone troopers were never meant to be Jedi. They were made to be soldiers—no emotions, no hesitation, and definitely no connection to the Force.
That’s just how the Kaminoans designed them. But then I came across two stories that made me stop and rethink everything.
Turns out, not every clone fits the mold. These two? They were different. And their connection to the Force led them down paths no other clone had ever walked.
1. Glitch
Glitch’s story comes from The Clone Wars: Defenders of the Lost Temple, and trust me, it’s a wild one.
During the Clone Wars, Jedi General B’ink Utrila and her squad from the 187th Legion were sent on a mission to explore an ancient Jedi temple.
Sounds simple enough, right? Well, not really.
Glitch was just another trooper in the squad – or at least, that’s what everyone thought.
But from the moment they arrived, he felt something off. He told his squad he had seen the temple before, in a vision.
Of course, no one really believed him. Clones weren’t supposed to have visions.
But Glitch’s instincts turned out to be right. He led them to a hidden entrance that no one else had noticed.
And once inside, things got even crazier. The team found an ancient Sith relic called “the gauntlet,” but before they could figure out what to do with it, they were ambushed by the Mandalorian Death Watch.
The clones and Jedi were completely overwhelmed.
And then, in the middle of the chaos, Glitch did something no other clone had ever done. He grabbed a fallen Jedi’s lightsaber and turned it on.
Imagine being one of his squadmates in that moment. A clone wielding a Jedi weapon? That just didn’t happen.
But it wasn’t just for show, Glitch actually fought with it. He took on Pre Vizsla, the leader of Death Watch, in a full-blown lightsaber duel.
And while he had zero formal training, his movements were eerily smooth, almost like the Force itself was guiding him.
As the battle raged on, the temple started to collapse around them. Glitch made a final move, pushing Vizsla back just long enough for the others to escape.
When the dust settled, he should’ve been gone too. But against all odds, he survived. And he knew, it was the Force that had saved him.
2. Jek-14
Glitch’s story is incredible, but he’s not the only one. There’s another force-sensitive clone who’s even more of an anomaly: Jek-14.
Jek-14’s origin is completely different from any other clone. He wasn’t just a genetic copy of Jango Fett like the rest.
In LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles - Secret Plans Are Revealed, we find out that Kaminoan scientists experimented with Kyber crystals – yes, the same ones used in lightsabers – to create a batch of Force-sensitive clones.
It didn’t work. Well, except for one. Jek-14.
From the moment he emerged from the cloning pod, he had incredible Force abilities.
And when I say incredible, I mean he went toe-to-toe with Yoda and Mace Windu. That’s not something just anyone can do.
At first, Jek-14 was caught in the middle of the ongoing war.
Both the Republic and the Separatists saw his potential and wanted to use him as a weapon.
But Jek-14 wasn’t interested in picking a side. He was different, and he knew it.
His neutrality led him to some wild encounters. He clashed with major villains like Darth Sidious, General Grievous, and Count Dooku.
But unlike most Force-users, Jek-14 didn’t fall into the Jedi vs. Sith conflict. Instead, he found his own purpose.
On Hoth, instead of fighting, he helped Yoda’s Padawans build and create.
That’s the kind of person he was – more of a protector than a warrior.
But of course, things didn’t stay peaceful forever. At one point, Count Dooku captured him and tried to force him to create an army of Sith clones.
That could’ve been a disaster, but Jek-14 wasn’t having it. He tapped into his full power and wiped out Dooku’s experiment before it could go too far.
Still, even after all that, Jek-14 never officially joined the Jedi. He chose to walk his own path.
After Order 66 and the rise of the Empire, he re-emerged at key moments, helping figures like Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Luke Skywalker.
He protected Jedi holocrons from the Empire, aided the Rebel Alliance, and basically showed that you don’t need to be a Jedi or a Sith to make a difference.
When the time was right, Jek-14 disappeared into solitude. After everything he had been through, he wanted a peaceful life. And honestly? He earned it.
