Why Did Darth Vader HATE The Inquisitors?

Why Did Darth Vader HATE The Inquisitors?

Everyone knows Darth Vader as the master of the Inquisitors, training them to hunt down the remaining Jedi.

But here’s something you might not realize: despite his role, Vader actually hates the Inquisitors. Deep down, he views them as mere tools, unworthy of true power or respect.

Here is why!

WHY DARTH VADER INTENTIONALLY TORTURED THE INQUISITORS!(CANON) - Star Wars Comics Explained

Darth Vader’s hatred for the Inquisitors comes from his strong dislike for anything he sees as weak. As a Sith, Vader believed that only the strongest should have power.

The Inquisitors, who were mostly former Jedi who turned to the dark side out of fear or desperation, represented the kind of weakness Vader despised.

Unlike true Sith, who were shaped by years of hard training, the Inquisitors were seen by Vader as nothing more than tools, not worthy of real power.

In the Star Wars: Darth Vader (2017) comic series by Charles Soule, we see how much Vader disliked the Inquisitors.

He was harsh and brutal during their training, often punishing them severely. In one session, he even cut off the limbs of the Sixth Brother just to show the importance of being ruthless.

Another reason Vader disliked the Inquisitors is tied to Sith traditions.

The Sith believe in constant competition and betrayal.

As a Sith Lord, Vader saw any dark side user as a possible threat, even if they worked for him.

The Rule of Two, a key Sith belief, says there can only be two true Sith at any time—a master and an apprentice.

Even though the Inquisitors weren’t true Sith, they were still seen as a threat to this balance.

In Star Wars: The Rise of the Empire, we learn that Vader never fully trusted the Inquisitors.

He saw them as tools to be used and discarded and was always on guard against them.

This distrust is not surprising since Sith’s teachings encourage apprentices to eventually overthrow their masters.

Palpatine, Vader’s master, played a role in this tension.

He kept Vader and the Inquisitors at odds with each other to ensure that Vader stayed focused on his tasks and never got too comfortable.

This also kept the Inquisitors in check, as they feared Vader more than they respected him.

In the Star Wars: Darth Vader – Dark Lord of the Sith (2017-2018) series, we see how Palpatine used the Inquisitors to keep Vader on edge.

Their existence was a reminder to Vader that he could be replaced, making sure he was always proving his worth.

The Inquisitors were never meant to be true Sith, but they served to keep Vader under control.

Vader’s hatred for the Inquisitors also has personal roots.

As Anakin Skywalker, he was once a Jedi who believed in the light side of the Force.

His fall to the dark side brought him great pain and loss.

Seeing former Jedi who so easily turned to the dark side might have reminded Vader of his own mistakes and the high price he paid for them.

In Star Wars Rebels, we see how Vader treats the Inquisitors with cold disdain.

They remind him of his past and the weakness he once had—something he now hates and wants to completely separate himself from.
