One Small Detail That Quietly Confirmed Revan Is Officially Canon

Darth Revan is a well-liked character from Star Wars. If you’re a fan, you’ve likely played the popular game “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic” (KOTOR).

But now, Disney says Revan is part of ‘Legends’, not the main story. Even so, we fans hope to see Revan in the main story, or ‘Canon’.

And guess what? Revan’s name does show up in the new Star Wars trilogy. Let’s find out where!.

Follow me, and I will point out where that hint is from!

Darth Revan from Knights of the Old Republic

Revan

Throughout the game, Revan embarks on a quest to uncover his forgotten past.

He assembles a group of followers and embarks on a journey to find “Star Maps”, which lead to the Star Forge, a place of significant importance to his past.

As Revan delves deeper into his past, he faces numerous challenges and makes choices that shape his path.

The game offers an immersive experience, allowing players to explore Revan’s complex character and his transformation from a Jedi Knight to a Sith Lord.

However, the full extent of Revan’s story and his ultimate fate are left for the players to discover.

This ensures a captivating and suspenseful gaming experience, making “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic” a memorable part of the Star Wars franchise.

Despite the success of the gameplay and the rich lore surrounding Revan, it’s important to note that the Revan we know from “Knights of the Old Republic” is not officially canon in the Star Wars universe.

This version of Revan is part of the Expanded Universe, now referred to as ‘Legends’.

While elements of the Expanded Universe have been incorporated into the official canon, the full story of Revan as presented in “Knights of the Old Republic” remains in the realm of ‘Legends’.

Is Darth Revan Truly in Canon?

Most fans of Revan have likely played the game “Knights of the Old Republic” (KOTOR) at least once, and many hope to see Revan appear in the official Star Wars canon someday.

In “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”, we see Kylo Ren seeking the phantom Emperor, determined to eliminate any threat to his power.

When Ren confronts Emperor Palpatine, he intends to destroy him. However, Palpatine, with his iconic power, manipulates Ren with a promise: if Ren joins him, he will rule the Galaxy with a rebuilt Empire.

Palpatine then reveals thousands of Sith Star Destroyer ships to Kylo Ren, known as the Final Order. But how does this relate to our beloved Darth Revan?

The new Empire Star Destroyers come with a new type of trooper, called Sith Troopers. They resemble the familiar Stormtroopers, but their armor is a distinctive crimson red, a color associated with the Sith.

The Sith Troopers are part of the Sith Eternal cult’s army and are organized into legions, each consisting of five-thousand infantry soldiers.

The 3rd Legion, also known as the Revan Legion, is named after the ancient Sith Lord Revan.

However, it’s unclear whether the Revan referred to here is the same Dark Lord Revan we know from KOTOR, or a different Revan.

Hopefully, we’ll get a definitive answer about this in the future.

If you’re skeptical and think this might be made-up information, you can find detailed information about the 3rd Legion: Revan Legion in the “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary”.
