The Acolyte Overtakes The Mandalorian With This Star Wars Record-Breaking Number

Disney+’s latest Star Wars series, The Acolyte, has set a new record with its staggering budget, according to Wikipedia. The show has surpassed all previous Star Wars series, including the fan-favorite The Mandalorian, with a production cost of $180 million for its eight episodes.

This makes The Acolyte the most expensive Star Wars series to date. In comparison, The Mandalorian cost $120 million for its first season, averaging $15 million per episode.

Even the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries, which is Star Wars’ least expensive live-action show to date, had a full production budget of $90 million. This series, which explores Obi-Wan’s life on Tatooine after leaving Luke with Owen and Beru Lars, produced only six episodes, each costing around $15 million.

The budget for Ahsoka season 1 hasn’t been officially revealed, but estimates suggest it cost around $100 million for its eight episodes, or about $12.5 million per episode. This is slightly lower than other related shows like The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian. The Book of Boba Fett is estimated to have had a budget of around $15 million per episode, totaling approximately $105 million for its seven episodes.

With an average of $22.5 million per episode, The Acolyte ranks among the most expensive television shows ever made. Although it falls short of other high-budget series like WandaVision, Stranger Things, and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, it surpasses the budget of House of the Dragon and leads in Star Wars production costs.
