How OP Would a Force Sensitive Grievous Be?

We all know how powerful and fearsome General Grievous is, especially with his impressive lightsaber collection and his ability to defeat Force wielders, including not just Jedi but also the Dathomir Witches.

And that’s just with his normal strength, having been trained in lightsaber combat by Darth Tyranus.

Typically, in Star Wars, those who wield lightsabers are Force users, either Jedi or Sith.

But Grievous stands out, which leads fans to wonder: just how unstoppable would Grievous be if he were Force-sensitive?

General Grievous

Let’s talk about where Grievous came from, because I feel like people forget how intense his backstory really is. He wasn’t always this lightsaber-spinning cyborg—he used to be a warlord from Kalee, already wrecking enemies long before the cybernetics.

Then Dooku and Sidious staged a shuttle crash that nearly killed him. And instead of letting him die, they offered him a second chance—turn him into a machine of war. Grievous took the deal.

After that, he trained under Dooku and became a full-on Jedi slayer. No Force powers, just pure rage, precision, and a whole lot of metal. Everything he did from that point on was fueled by hate—hate for the Jedi, hate for the Republic. And we saw what that turned him into: the nightmare general of the Clone Wars.

What if Grievous as a Force-Sensitive

So, if Grievous had been Force-sensitive, the explosion might have diminished his powers, similar to what happened to Darth Vader.

However, even without Force sensitivity, Grievous proved to be a formidable opponent. Wherever he went, he conquered his enemies, such as when he cleared out the Dathomir witches to save Dooku.

If Grievous had the Force, he’d be an absolute monster. His lightsaber skills were already elite, but with Force speed and reflexes, he’d be moving at a blur—cutting down Jedi before they could even react. Add telekinesis into the mix and he could be throwing objects mid-fight, yanking lightsabers, or controlling multiple blades at once like it’s nothing.

Tactically, the guy was already brilliant. Give him Force sense and now he’s reading the battlefield like a chessboard, predicting every move before it happens. Jedi wouldn’t stand a chance.

And if he tapped into the dark side? Forget it. Force choke, Force lightning—everything fueled by that deep hatred he carried. He’d be more than a general. He’d be Sith Lord material, especially after Dooku’s fall. Palpatine might’ve tossed Dooku aside even sooner if Grievous could’ve used the Force. Honestly, the galaxy dodged a real nightmare.

Fans’ Perspectives on a Force-Sensitive Grievous

Let’s be honest, while the idea of Grievous with Force powers sounds amazing, fans have raised some interesting points that show it’s not all sunshine and lightsabers.

For starters, Grievous already has stamina issues, and adding Force powers would only drain him faster, making him weaker in longer fights, especially if he’s facing multiple opponents.

And sure, he’s got those four lightsabers, but don’t forget, a skilled Jedi could just use the Force to snatch them right out of his hands!

Still, there’s no denying Grievous remains a cool, terrifying character regardless.
