Harrison Ford: the man, the myth, the legend. We’ve all seen him in some of the most iconic roles in film history, from the adventurous archaeologist Indiana Jones to the replicant-hunting Rick Deckard in Blade Runner.
But you and I know that perhaps no role is more beloved than his portrayal of the charming rogue Han Solo in Star Wars.
Recently, Ford stepped back into his Han Solo persona, not in a galaxy far, far away, but on Jimmy Kimmel Live, in an unforgettable and hilarious segment that you won’t want to miss.
The audience was buzzing, aware of Ford’s historical reluctance to discuss his beloved Star Wars role.
Über-director J.J. Abrams had recently confirmed he was directing the sequel, Star Wars: Episode VII.
Ford agreed to take audience questions but set a firm condition: “No ‘Star Wars’ questions.” With the movie shrouded in secrecy, rumors swirled that Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill might reprise their original roles.
Audience members, dressed in various Star Wars costumes, stepped up to the microphone.
An Obi-Wan Kenobi stuttered, “Do you like being in movies?” A bearded dude dressed as Princess Leia asked, “Are you hungry?”
Then Chewbacca took the mic, refusing to play by Ford’s rules.
Speaking in his native Wookiee language (Shyriiwook), Chewbacca caught Ford off-guard.
The audience erupted in laughter as Ford snarled, “You son of a b—-!”
Chewbacca’s next remark prompted Ford’s deadpan response: “Always trying to blame me. You’re the one who couldn’t keep it in your furry pants!”
