Hayden Christensen Says His Favorite Star Wars Sequel Character Is Kylo Ren

The sequel trilogy is still something Star Wars fans argue about all the time. A lot of people have problems with the story, the choices, and where everything ended up, but one thing that is hard to deny is that the sequels did bring in some interesting characters.

And Kylo Ren was probably the biggest one.

He was the new dark side warrior with a crimson lightsaber, but he was also Ben Solo, a member of the Skywalker family and the grandson of Darth Vader. Some fans loved him, some fans hated him, but his connection to Vader made him stand out from the start.

And interestingly, Hayden Christensen said his favorite sequel character was Kylo Ren.

Hayden Christensen Reveals His Favorite Sequel Trilogy Character

During the press run for Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen was asked about the newer characters in Star Wars, and one name clearly stood out to him: Kylo Ren. In an interview with Infobae, Hayden said he “really enjoyed the Kylo Ren character” and said of Adam Driver’s performance, “I really liked what Adam Driver did with that.”

That is a fun answer because Kylo is not just some random sequel villain. He is Vader’s grandson, and his whole character is built around trying to live up to the darkness Anakin left behind. Hayden also showed love for other newer characters, including Din Djarin and Reva, but Kylo Ren being the one he highlighted feels especially fitting because of that family connection.

Kylo Ren Was the Sequel Character Closest to Anakin’s Legacy

Kylo Ren was always tied to Darth Vader, but the sequels made that connection more personal than just bloodline. He was Ben Solo, born into the Skywalker family, but instead of seeing Anakin’s redemption as the real ending of Vader’s story, he became obsessed with the darkness. The helmet, the voice, the anger, the way he tries to make himself look more frightening than he really is, all of it shows how badly he wants to become what he thinks Vader was.

And that is why Kylo stands out from the other sequel characters. He is not calm like Vader, and he is not fully controlled like Palpatine. He is emotional, unstable, and constantly trying to prove he belongs in a legacy that is too big for him.
