The FORGOTTEN Sith Who Fought The Entire Jedi Council And Killed 2000 Jedi

The Jedi had faced many enemies across history, but very few attacked them with this much hatred.

This Sith did not just challenge one Jedi or hide in the shadows waiting for power. He built an army, hunted the Order across the galaxy, and turned his revenge into a massacre that left nearly 2,000 Jedi dead.

The strange part is that he did not begin as an enemy of the Jedi. He used to be one of them.So how did a former Jedi fall so far that it took the Jedi Council itself to finally bring him down?

He Was a Jedi Before He Became a Sith

The Sith who caused all of this was Darth Desolous, but he did not start his life as a Sith Lord. He was originally a Pau’an Jedi Master, which makes his fall even worse. This was not some outside enemy who never understood the Jedi. Desolous knew the Order from the inside.

But even as a Jedi, he had a violent nature. He was drawn to battle, aggression, and power in a way the Jedi could not ignore. Over time, he began studying forbidden Sith teachings, and that pushed him further away from the path he was supposed to follow.

Eventually, the Jedi Order cast him out.

For Desolous it as betrayal. The Order had rejected him, so he turned all of his anger toward the Jedi and became the very thing they feared he would become.

That is when Darth Desolous was born, a former Jedi Master who now knew exactly how the Jedi thought, how they fought, and how to hunt them.

His Revenge Became a Jedi Massacre

After being cast out, Darth Desolous turned his exile into a war against the Jedi Order.

Desolous gathered an army of Pau’an warriors and trained them to fight the Jedi directly. He understood Jedi tactics because he had been one of them, and he used that knowledge to build an army that could hunt them more effectively.

His warriors were armed with cortosis shields and melee weapons, giving them a better chance against lightsabers than normal soldiers would have. With that army behind him, Desolous began striking at Jedi across the galaxy.

The result was brutal. Darth Desolous and his forces were said to have killed nearly 2,000 Jedi, turning his personal hatred into one of the bloodiest attacks the Order had ever faced.

The Jedi Finally Trapped Him at Yaga Minor

After so many victories, Desolous became too confident. The Jedi knew they could not keep letting him and his army choose the battlefield, so they used a small group of Jedi as bait on Yaga Minor.

Desolous took it. He led his Pau’an army into a direct assault, thinking he had found another group of Jedi to wipe out. But this time, the Jedi were waiting for him. A Jedi fleet jumped out of hyperspace and cut off his escape, trapping Desolous and his warriors before they could retreat.

That was where his campaign ended. His army was destroyed, and Desolous was finally killed. But even after death, his legend survived inside the Jedi Temple’s trial program, where a simulacrum of him later challenged Starkiller in The Force Unleashed. During that fight, Desolous even boasted, “It took the entire Council to kill me, boy. You have no hope.”
