So the best planet to live on is not the biggest, richest, or most powerful one.
It is the one that actually gives people a normal life: clean air, green land, beautiful cities, strong culture, and enough peace to enjoy it.

1. Naboo Has the Best Natural Living Conditions
Naboo already beats most Star Wars planets before politics or culture even enter the question.
Its surface has swampy lakes, rolling plains, and green hills. That alone puts it above worlds like Tatooine, Hoth, Mustafar, or Coruscant, where daily life means surviving heat, cold, lava, crowding, or endless artificial city layers.
Naboo has variety without turning hostile. There are open fields, rivers, lakes, forests, and cities built into the landscape instead of covering the entire planet. The world feels lived in, but not consumed.
Its beauty is not only scenery either. Naboo has water, open land, natural resources, and enough ecological range for both surface cities and underwater settlements. The Gungans live beneath the water in hydrostatic bubble cities, while the human population builds river cities filled with classical architecture and greenery.
That is what makes Naboo rare in Star Wars. It is not one endless biome pushed to an extreme. It has nature, water, cities, farmland, animals, and space to breathe.
For a normal person trying to live somewhere, that already makes it one of the safest choices in the galaxy.
2. Naboo Has Culture Without Feeling Like a Prison
Theed sits beside cliffs and waterfalls, with plazas, gardens, and pale stone buildings built around the landscape. The city has government buildings, public spaces, ceremony, and art, but it still leaves room for water, trees, open sky, and quiet streets.
The Royal Palace shows that side of Naboo clearly. It is the seat of the planet’s elected monarch, but it does not look like a fortress built to intimidate everyone around it. It feels like a public center for a world that values beauty as much as power.
Otoh Gunga gives Naboo another kind of civilization. The Gungans built their city underwater in Lake Paonga, using hydrostatic bubble technology to create breathable spaces beneath the surface. Naboo has a major surface culture and a major underwater culture on the same world, each shaped by the environment around it.
Coruscant has more power and history, but it also buries life under endless city layers. Naboo gives people cities without taking away rivers, lakes, fields, and open land.
3. Naboo Had Beauty Without Being Defenseless
Naboo had gardens, waterfalls, lakes, and open plains, but it also had forces ready when the Trade Federation invaded.
The Royal Naboo Security Forces protected Theed, guarded the palace, flew N-1 starfighters, and served the elected monarch. They were not an occupation army. They gave Naboo trained pilots, palace guards, officers, and security units without turning the capital into a military base.
The Gungans had their own army beneath the surface. When Queen Amidala returned to Naboo, Boss Nass gathered Gungan warriors and brought them onto the Great Grass Plains to draw the droid army away from Theed.
They fought with large energy shields, boomers, fambaas, and mounted troops. Their weapons and animals came from their own culture instead of copying the Trade Federation’s machines.
Naboo had cities, rivers, lakes, open land, a royal security force, and a Gungan army. For a normal person trying to live somewhere in Star Wars, that is a rare mix: beautiful enough to enjoy, organized enough to function, and defended enough to survive an invasion.
