Another exciting Star Wars project is in the works, and it’s all about the Jedi Order.
While the title Dawn of the Jedi hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, we’re not here to speculate—we’re here to share some exciting news about this new project.
Remember the Andor episode “One Way Out” and how incredible it was?
That episode, which was written by Beau Willimon, Tony Gilroy, and George Lucas, earned a high rating of 9.4/10 on IMDb.
So, it’s no surprise that James Mangold’s upcoming Star Wars film, Dawn of the Jedi, is generating significant buzz—especially with the recent announcement that Beau Willimon, the creator of House of Cards and a writer for Andor, will co-write the movie alongside Mangold.
This film is set to explore the origins of the Jedi Order, taking us back roughly 25,000 years before the events of the Skywalker saga, delving into the earliest days of the Force.
James Mangold, known for his work on films like Logan and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, is leading this project.
Reflecting on the film, Mangold shared, “When I first started talking to Kathy (Kennedy) about doing one of these pictures, what occurred to me was thinking about what kind of genre of movie within Star Wars I wanted to do. And I thought about a biblical epic, like a Ten Commandments, about the dawning of the Force. Where did the Force come from, when did we discover it, when did we learn how to use it?”
Although the feature doesn’t have a release date yet, Mangold is expected to focus on Dawn of the Jedi after completing his Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, starring Timothée Chalamet and produced by Disney’s Searchlight Pictures.
