What Happened to General Grievous’s Body AFTER Episode III?

What Happened to General Grievous’s Body AFTER Episode III?

In the aftermath of the Clone Wars, the fate of many warriors remained shrouded in mystery.

Among them, General Grievous, the fearsome cyborg commander of the Separatist army, met a dramatic end at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Yet, the story of his remains is a testament to the enduring legacy of villains in the Star Wars galaxy.

Drawing from the rich tapestry of Star Wars Legends, we delve into an alternate narrative that reimagines the legacy of General Grievous after the events of Episode III.

The Emperor’s Project

After Grievous’s defeat on Utapau, Emperor Palpatine, the dark architect behind countless schemes, saw potential in the remains of the formidable general. In a clandestine operation, Palpatine dispatched a team of elite scientists and engineers to retrieve Grievous’s body from the wreckage.

The mission was clear: to repurpose the cyborg’s remains into a new instrument of terror. The operation was carried out in utmost secrecy on a hidden facility on Utapau, where the scientists embarked on a project that would push the boundaries of technology and morality.

General Grievous

The Birth of N-K Necrosis

Utilizing cutting-edge cybernetics and Sith alchemy, the team succeeded in integrating a sophisticated droid intelligence into the remnants of Grievous’s body. This hybrid creation, named N-K Necrosis, was a fusion of organic matter and machine, embodying the prowess of a Jedi hunter with the ruthlessness of a droid.

To complement its combat abilities, N-K Necrosis was armed with a unique double-bladed lightsaber, imbued with a rare crystal that once belonged to Darth Bane, the ancient Sith Lord renowned for his role in establishing the Rule of Two.

This symbolic weapon served not only as a tool of war but as a bridge between the dark legacies of the past and the present.

The Rebellion and the Aftermath

However, ambition breeds betrayal. One of the project’s lead scientists, driven by greed and visions of power, attempted to seize control of N-K Necrosis and its guardian MagnaGuards.

The plot was ultimately foiled by a group of rebels who stumbled upon the facility during a covert mission. In a fierce confrontation, N-K Necrosis was destroyed, and its components were scattered to the winds of the black market.

Rumors persist that parts of Grievous, or perhaps even the crystal from Darth Bane’s lightsaber, eventually came into the possession of individuals such as Admiral Thrawn, known for his appreciation of rare artifacts and strategic acumen.

These artifacts, remnants of a bygone era, continue to inspire and instigate new conflicts across the galaxy.
